Now: Prepare Online for Project Management Certifications
Bertelsmann University is offering new online courses to prepare for various project management certifications. The programs, which can be used internationally, give employees a way to be prepared for the demands of project management. Among other things, they teach accredited staff-development and quality standards, as well as methods for more efficient project design and for communications within a project. Some of the new courses are already available on peoplenet as of October, others will follow early next year.
For many Bertelsmann employees, much of the daily work routine revolves around managing projects. External clients increasingly expect them to have internationally recognized project management certifications in addition to their professional skills. Which is why, from October, Bertelsmann University is offering a way to prepare online for various project management certifications. Employees can integrate the learning units into their workaday routine as needed and flexibly, and complete them anytime, anywhere. The goal is not only to increase their chances in the competition for projects, but also to provide a reliable and consistent basis for coordinated procedures when managing multiple projects.
Bertelsmann University will offer the following online qualifications: PMI® (PMP and CAPM), ITIL®, Prince2® (Foundation and Practitioner), Scrum (Master and Owner), and IPMA® (Level D). The graphic provides an overview of the complete project management offer and additional details. Online prep courses for the PMI®, ITIL®, and IPMA® qualifications are already available on peoplenet. The other online courses will follow early next year.
Structure of the online courses
Most of the courses are in English – except the IPMA® qualification, which can only be acquired in German. The learning pathways of each course consist of varied elements such as videos, exercises, and sample exam questions. In addition, an e-trainer supports participants with the online course, should they have questions regarding the content. A dedicated project management community also allows for interaction among the participants.
The online certification process
Employees can register on peoplenet for the new online courses to prepare them for the various project management certifications. Once the supervisor has approved the registration, the online course’s learning pathway will be available to them for twelve months.
To actually obtain the certification from an accredited certification provider, employees must independently register for the exam with the certification provider, after having successfully completed the preparation course. Information about registering for the exam is included in the online preparation course. If they pass the exam, a copy of the certificate can be sent to Bertelsmann University to add the new accreditation to their personal peoplenet learning history.
