There is a lot to discover in this year’s “Your Campus”: In 175+ sessions, more than 160 employees from national and international Bertelsmann world will impart their skills and knowledge on a wide range of company-related topics and beyond in virtual training sessions.
‘Veterans’ and new trainers offer a colorful bouquet of topics
In addition to 50 “repeat offenders” from last year, the “Your Campus” team is pleased to welcome new trainers from additional countries such as Estonia, Italy and Poland. In total, trainers from more than 30 organizations are making their knowledge available to all Bertelsmann employees – and around the globe, e.g. at Relias in the U.S., Penguin Random House in Spain and India, Prinovis in the U.K., Arvato Financial Solution in Tallinn, Arvato Supply Chain Solutions in Turkey and, Poland, Arvato Systems and the Corporate Center in Germany and the US, the various business units of RTL Group. Once again, Gruner + Jahr colleagues are contributing the highest number of trainings this year.
The diversity of the participating companies is also reflected in the variety of topics: These range from “Understanding the gender pay gap and what we can do about it” (BMG UK), and “Stress and Resilience in Zeiten von Homeoffice” (G+J Germany) to “How Data Analytics amplifies creativity” (RTL NL) and “Miro Masters – Erstellung von Workshops mit der Kollaborationssoftware Miro” (Arvato Financial Solutions Germany).
In total, there are around 100 German-language sessions, over 65 English-language sessions, and a few selected Turkish- and Spanish-language sessions to choose from.
“We are really excited about the diversity of course content and trainers in this year’s ‘Your Campus’,” says Vera Hasselbach, Your Campus team member for RTL Mediengruppe. “It shows that employees want to connect virtually to share nationally, as well as internationally relevant skills and content, and move our business forward together.” “It is also a strong sign that the learning culture is becoming more and more important at a time when Bertelsmann businesses are becoming even more digitally bundled and interconnected,” adds Sven Oevermann, Your Campus team member for Arvato Supply Chain Solutions
Silvia Stammer, Deputy Editorial Director of the customer magazine Centaur at TERRITORY and participant in the last Kollegen-Campus, gives us an example of this: “Besides the exciting sessions, my special ‘win’ is a new contact, a dear colleague at Penguin Random House. A virtual break-out session not only resulted in a quick idea for a potential podcast, but the basis for an lasting exchange of content.”
This year’s “Your Campus,” initiated by Bertelsmann University, once again is held under the hashtag “#BeALearnfluencer. Originally developed by Gruner + Jahr, the “Kollegen-Campus” format was conducted completely digitally for the first time last year due to the pandemic and associated restrictions. This, in turn, enabled a cross-divisional and global pilot. As a result, the learning culture format quickly developed into one of Bertelsmann’s most successful learning initiatives.
